5 Tips on Being a Gracious Travel Buddy!
We are all human beings who have our routines and anxieties. We can all use a few tips on how to be a better travel buddy for our friends, family, and hospitality personnel.
Watch the Clock
Be on time for meet-ups and group excursions. Add in an extra 10 minutes of buffer time, if you are a “late Lucy."
Do NOT Stray From the Group - this is important for a few reasons.
No one wants you to miss amazing views, picture moments, historical facts, or important announcements. There is safety in numbers. The more people in your group, the less likely someone will steal, harm, or take a tourist.
Be prepared to carry your own “stuff.”
There is no “mom” on this trip. Even if you are with your parents or spouse, it is their vacation as well. Everyone should have their own backpack, fanny pack, or anything for easy access to personal items.
Bonus Tip - Many places will help ship items from the store to your home in the USA so you do not have to carry around your purchases.
Carry enough of the country’s currency for extra expenses while traveling with others.
If out of the USA, keep your Passport with you including emergency names/telephone numbers in the event of a medical emergency.
Also, keep a photocopy of all personal identifications, emergency contact information, and itinerary in your suitcase in your room. This is a backup, in case your real documents are lost or stolen.
